Rachael's Haircut

I took Rachael in to get her haircut last week. She's been telling me for a while now that she wanted short hair. When we got to Supercuts the lady asked Rachael what she wanted and she said she wanted her hair cut like mine. Which is short now, between my chin and my shoulders. They lady grabbed one of her haircut books and pointed out this style. Rachael fell in love immediately! It was exactly like her friend at school. I think it looks really cute on her and it makes her look so much older. Not that I want my nine year old to look older of course.

My Wii Fit Adventure

So I've been trying to get my hands on a Wii Fit for a while now and today, I finally got my hands on one!

My sister works at Best Buy and I've been bugging her trying to find out when they were going to get some more in stock. She found out that they were going to be in this weeks ad and should be in stock today.

A friend of mine at work wanted to get one too for her mom so we decided to make a morning of it. We met up at 8:30 and had some breakfast at Paneras and visited with another friend of hers while we waited for Best Buy to open at 10. There were only about 12 of us waiting in line before the doors opened. We got in, got our Wii Fits and then went home. The kids and I spent the rest of the afternoon taking turns playing on it. It's so much fun and worth the wait.

Birthday Party

Yesterday we went over to my brother's house for his son's 8th birthday Party. First my nephew opened his presents and then we all had Chocolate Cake with Rocky Road and Cookies and Cream Ice Cream.
After the party we all went to a place called Kid's Club. It's a great big play structure that the kids can climb all over and run around and be as loud as they want. It's a great way to wear off all of their extra energy.
Here's Rachael pausing for a minute so I could take her picture. She ran into one of her little friends from school while we were here.
Here's Dylan, my Nephew and a friend from the party coming down the slides.
Here's Rachael helping my Niece get away from Jeremy so he couldn't tickle her. She told everyone at the party that every time she sees Jeremy, he tickles her.
Here's Dylan playing with a Nerf toy and my Nephew opening his presents in the background.
Here's Cody playing with a toy gun. It's always fun to go to someone elses house and play with different toys I think.

Our New Kitty

For Christmas this year we got a new little kitty. She didn't have a name for a week. We just called her Stripes and then we couldn't think of anything else to call her. I just call her Kitty and the kids call her Stripes.
Here's Rachael playing dress up with her. She looks like she wants to wear doll clothes, right? This cat is so funny. She just sat there and let Rachael dress her up.
Here she is in our room playing with her favorite green ball. She plays with this ball for hours at a time. She throws it around then she chases after it. She carries it around in her mouth too! I couldn't get a clear picture of that though, she wouldn't stay still.

Cody's Concert

Cody decided this year that he wants to learn the Clarinet. I took him to Beacocks Music to find out how much it would cost to get him started. The initial start up was a little more than I wanted to pay, but the monthly payments aren't too terrible. He's been playing for about two and half months now.
There was supposed to be a Winter Concert at the school before Christmas break, but because it snowed a lot this year, school was canceled on that day. No worries, they rescheduled to this last Friday. Cody got to play in the band and Rachael's class got to get up and do a really cute Christmas dance in front of everyone. The very last song that was performed was The Twelve Days of Christmas. For this song, all of the students were assigned a day of Christmas. They had to stand up and sing and dance their part. It was really cool how it was all set up. The kids really enjoyed it. I think the parents did too.

New Years Eve

Jeremy and I spent New Years Eve together. Our friends Jestyne and Tom had invited us over to hang out with them at their house. There were two other couples over there until just before ten and then one of the couples had to leave. We all ate lots of good food and drank some drinks. We all decided to play a board game that Jeremy and I had brought with us. Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars. It's a couples game and the couple that can answer their questions correctly first wins the game. Sadly when Jeremy and I play this game, we never win. We finished the game just before midnight. Later we all decided to play Guitar Hero World Tour. (I was so excited that I actually knew how to play!) We all took turns rotating from the drums, to the guitar and then to the microphone. I don't know how to play the guitar and I'm not that great of a singer, but I do pretty good on the drums as long as they are set on easy. We stayed until after 2 o'clock rocking out.

Girl's Night Out

Last Friday (the day after Christmas) I was invited to go with my friend Jennifer, her mom and her mom's friend to go across the river and go shopping and stay in a hotel for the night. It's her family's tradition for the girls to do this every year. To take advantage of after Christmas sales. Jennifer's sister and niece we unable to make it this year.

Jennifer and I worked until noon and then headed over to the hotel shortly after. Our room was ready early so we were able to check in. After we checked in we walked across the street to Red Robin and had some lunch. After lunch we walked from store to store and went shopping. After our arms were full and our feet were tired we walked back to the hotel. Jennifer's mom and her friend were done for the night after that. Jennifer and I rested for a little bit and then headed over to happy hour at the sports bar down the road. Unfortunately we had just missed it so we had to pay full price for our dinner and drinks.

After dinner, we brought back some pizza for the other two and then headed back out to shop some more. After the stores closed, we went and dropped our things off and headed to the bar down stairs. The picture above was taken at the bar. The counter tops were very cool. They had lights in them that changed colors. We stayed until the bar closed and then went to bed.

In the morning once we were all up and around, we had breakfast at Starbucks and then headed home. What a fun night we had.
